Does Black have any sort of timeline for committing again that we know of? Would love to get an early commitment from a 2014 guy. Also, I read about Jahlil Okafor recruitment and I know we are going after him but given the talk that he may want to play with Tyus Jones at the next level is there any movement on Jones?

Not sure how much movement on Tyus Jones is But Okafor likes us and if we continue to recruit him hard he should end up here!

Agree we need a big we will get some by 2014 but I really like Black.... he is a guy who plays big projects as a PF type who can stretch and play face to the basket! Similar to Jeff Adrien but better athlete!

Looking at the ESPN 60 for 2014 gives me shivers. So much potential for UConn to scoop some amazing prospects up, looks like a strong recruiting year. If there was anyway at all we could bring in Jahlil Okafor AND Tyus Jones we would bring some of the best to the table. Thing is do we realistically have a shot? I mean he seems like a really really tough get.

elep: Kevin Ollie. He's slippery. Missed him earlier. He was here for Okafor and 2016 wing Tyus Battle.

Chuckwu behind bench tonight. Seems to be a lot of attention on him lately. Are we really looking to take on two major projects with AB and him? Can we expect anything from him soon too? Also, not too sure what to think if Ahmed Hill being at NC state for the Duke upset last week. Might hurt our chances a little bit.

Staff is doing due diligence with BIGS. Not mad at all that they are staying in chat with Chukwu!

Brimah will be a player here.... he is skinny but works hard and offensively further along than Thabeet with similar wing span... so Defense im sure will be there!

Look Brimah right now is prolly our best BIG and we are doing ok this year. Just get him in a college weight room and diet he will be fine!

Lousiville exposed our lack of interior D in that second half.... the guards were tired playiing so many minutes all year anyway and with no rebounding and interior D they pulled away.... so..... ATTENTION ALL BIGS WE NEED YOU!! Okafor hoep you saw what you can contribute if you come and others!!

Not worried about Ahmed Hill.... if we stay on him hard we should be ok with our connection to him!!

I am all for going and getting the big guys! Excited to see more of Brimah in our future. Very anxious to start filling these scholarships start filling for 2014. With 5 of them available I really hope we can get some of the top talent in this class.

    Okafor

    It was
posted on ESPN that Okafor, Jones and Winslow will all go to the same college. Obviously who ever landed that gem package would be set. But do we honestly have a shot at all 3 of them? I know Okafor likes us but all 3?

UConn is very involved with Ahmed Hill and Khadeen Carrington. Look for them to be on the in down to the wire with these two. They are being recruited as different positions...

KO pulled off another great feat with the commitment/transfer of Rodney Purvis. It's a great gesture toward keeping the program relevant and future tournament success. I'm confident that this will have a benefit on KO's ability to recruit future guards because Ollie has what it takes to make Purvis's talents fully come to fruition.

Joey & Ozzie, It may be way to early for you guys to speculate on this but what do you think Purvis's commit does to the 2014 class? Does it kill our chances with Amhed Hill and Carrington? Does it shift focus away from replacing Shabazz toward bigs? Does it not change our focus because Purvis could be, or is likely to be one and done?

    Yessir.....

Great question Tony and to answer you.... NO. It does not affect any of them. We are and will continue to go hard after Hill, Carrington, Leron Black etc.... this clas with Purvis will be 5-6 deep of kids IMO!

Sorry guys I have been off of here for a while busy with work and doing a lot of stuff on the rivals UCONN board as well!
But people need to engage in here more on all discussions!

I think they are different players a little bit. To me Black is a stretch 4 type and Abu more of a physical banger type.

Abu from what I have heard for a while will go were Terrell goes as a package.... so if that is still the case then I would say Black.

As far as better player.... you cant go wrong with either..... both will win you games and a chip if they stick around long enough!

Rather have the Hill/Gant package, if there is one.

Can someone give me a overview of what next season looks like? I've heard mixed things but could someone tell me what our record might be or how our players will fare?

Nah seriously tooo early to tell... BUT we do have everyone back plus some much needed allbeit younger front court depth!

Next year shold be really good and could be special as in NC special IF we rebound and block shots like old UCONN teams....

Record wise that is anyones guess maybe 24 reg season wins and then whatever tourney we play in for the conference should yield a couple more etc....
