Thread: 2014 Recruits

I read this and I was wicked excited. If I was Ollie Or Calhoun I would be offering this kid a scholarship immediately. Especialy with what he said about how he thinks he would bite on the offer.

Yes it would be great.... once we can offer other 2014 kids he will be offered. But I have to caution I have spoke to Chris a couple times over the last year and.... IMO he seems to favor St. Johns..... still a ways to go and we could easily nab him but...

I know for a fact he didn't say that, the same way St. Johns wasn't his dream school either. He backed off from those statements when he realized every recruiting site brought up that fact. It's not that St. Johns is his #1 school, but the fact that the entire NYC is telling him to go there. Every single day. He's close with Dwight Hardy, so that helps them out a little.

Last time I've spoken to him was last summer, and he was feeling UConn hard. Everytime I've seen him working out he had on official UConn gear. We all know that when it comes to recruiting, 1 year is a very long time. Besides his current list, he's starting to hear from UK.

Chris has denied he said that and the article takes out the quote. Either way we are in good shape especially if we offer.

Yea I spoke to his AAU coach and he said that this won't happen...

Shaqquan is one of the nicest,most humbling kid you'll have the pleasure of speaking to. Love his game, attitude off and on the court, and his desire to get better. Out of all of the 2014 kids, he is the one I would love to be a Husky the most. If this doesn't happen, I'm rooting for him regardless.

Kahari tweeted last night saying that his top five went right now as UConn, Baylor, Maryland, Syracuse, and Kansas. It's good to know that kids still have UConn on the top of their lists.

Oh yea and many many more do.... tha is why I believe 2013 will be another good class and expect 2014 to be a great class... going forward!!

We have a very solid foundation right now in Boat, Calhoun, Deandre and Nolan.... I did not include Napier because he will be leaving in 2 years to graduation . We will continue to win a lot of games ball hard and many younger kids will come.... this is still UCONN and as much as the nerdy media wants to railroad the program or specifically the great Jimmy Calhoun, they cannot effect the program!!!

Rashard Figures tells me that he expects UConn to offer him soon and that he could be on campus this week

Does anyone know when the first post in this forum will be updated? It has been a good amount of time since it last was. Curious to see the changes if possible!

Figures says that UConn is currently standing out in his mind. "UConn is a school I really like. That's my favorite school, I've always wanted to go there." Rashard also added that Kevin Ollie, UConn's assistant coach has been calling his high school coach a lot lately and that they should offer him relatively soon.

Rashard toured campus with Glen Miller. He had a great conversation with Coach Calhoun too. Said it was a great atmosphere and overall an awesome visit.

UConn has offered 2014 F Abdul Malik-Abu.

We are currently one of five schools standing out with Craig Victor. He plays the same position as McCullough and Vonleh.

aside from McCullough, where is the interest from Elite recruits? granted, the Rashard Figures have plenty of time to blow up but we are not in play with virtually all of the top 25. help me to understand why

What is our status with Chris McCullough at this point? He failed to even mention UConn as a school of interest for him in the recent espn article. He even cited Syracuse as a leader. Weren't we in pretty decent standing with him as recently as the beginning of the summer? Have we fallen that far off with him?

i do not think we are a top school. I hear cuse and uk is starting to call

McCullough commits to Cuse...wouldn't be surprised to see Whitehead commit there as well.

Not to much..... Just waiting until we can go hard after 2014. Staff still trying to finish 2013 up.
