With all the big boys going at this kid I doubt we would of stood a chance if we got in early on him in are situation.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Johnson was heard saying he wants to play as soon as he steps on campus and he wants to play a lot. All the other school recruiting him have depth at the center position. I think that may be enough to give UConn a chance.

We have the spot for him to start right away I just think we got in to late with him and are coach isn't a lock for next season so Cuse,uk and Gtown would seem more likely to snatch this kid up.Not to mention Louisville Ohio st Kansas and Missouri and many others have been incontact with him much longer.

We are not really even recruiting Dakari Johnson. This dude is all but UK bound anyway!

Yeah he's got about 20 lbs on brima.hopefully we're able to get him up north with nc state and others on him.

If we didn't even bother to recruit my cousin's son, Kahlil Dukes, we definitely shouldn't recruit Emmanuel Owootoah. If he's the one that posted that YouTube video with that particular song choice only back in February of 2012, he's proved that he's not mature enough to play at UConn. On top of that, it was a pretty weak highlight video. That's supposed to be your best game. I wasn't impressed. Hopefully you've seen more of him somewhere else that I don't know about. I am glad to hear the young man is impressed with UConn though.

It goes to show you the mentality our fanbase have now. As soon as a kid is mentioned with UConn, they want him right away. Their expectations skyrocket, and then they wonder why the team underachieve. I've even read how some feels Facey and Samuel will help make UConn top 10 in ranking again. Watching these kids play for about 2 years now, the short answer is nope. Ollie will make them better, but they won't be the solution to the woes.

UConn needs a big, but it has to be the right big. If they feel the team would need another guard, they should look more towards Duane Notice of ST. Thomas Moore or Kendall Smith from Deer Valley. Jon Severe from Omar's former HS is a good option as well.

I agree Kahlil Dukes would have been a good 3-pt ace at UConn. But we need a big. Desperately.

He's 6'11.5, 232 pounds, has a 7-3 wingspan and 38 in vertical. Has half of the ACC on him.
