Former co-captain of the 1998-1999 NCAA Champion UConn Huskies, Ricky Moore has come home to Storrs. Moore will work with former Husky Kevin Freeman as the assistant director of basketball administration. He will bring an abundance of knowledge and experience to the program.
Head coach Kevin Ollie is excited to work with Moore as well.
“I’m thrilled to be able to have Ricky join our staff,” Ollie said. “With his high character and strong basketball background, especially with his ties to UConn, he will be a perfect addition to help us maintain the success we have achieved. Ricky’s unselfishness as a player epitomizes the kind of attitude we are looking for from our student-athletes and from everybody associated with our program. I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome him back to the Husky family.”
Before going onto play professionally for over a decade, Moore was an instrumental part of the UConn team’s dating back to his freshman year. He ran the Husky offense through its memorable 1999 tournament run, which ended with UConn’s 1st national championship. Moore was an assistant at Dartmouth College the past two years. He is welcomed back to Storrs with open arms.
