Huskies Face Injuries; Prepare for Upcoming Games
RJ Evans, a graduate student, and UConn guard has been sidelined with a sternal-clavicular sprain. He is expected to miss significant time due to his injury. A time for his return is unknown. In addition, freshman forward Leon Tolksdorf has suffered an LCL sprain. He is listed as day-to-day.
The injuries hurt an already depleted UConn squad, who has minimal depth in both the frontcourt and the backcourt. The next series of games are against the Stony Brook Seawolves and the New Hampshire Wildcats. UConn is a perfect 3-0 against both schools since 2001.
On December 4th UConn takes on North Carolina State in Madison Square Garden as a part of the Jimmy V Classic. The 16th ranked Wolfpack are led by the physical junior forward CJ Leslie and junior guard Lorenzo Brown. 6’8” freshman TJ Warren leads the Wolfpack in scoring at 14.8 points per contest. NC State is a forward-oriented team with experience and depth in the frontcourt. UConn will have to rebound exceptionally well and knock down their shots if they hope to win.
The last time these two teams met was in the 2005 NCAA Tournament second round where NC State won 65-62 led by standout Julius Hodge.
